Friday was the family comp on FlamerIV but 1 brother was to ill to travel so there were only 5 on the boat. Started off just outside the harbour for the Red Band Fish which everyone on the boat caught then moved to 1 of the entances to Portland harbour for the Wrasse and then onto the Shambles for Mackeral and Launce, we then drifted for Flatties but none were caught. we then put the anchor down for an hour so we could have a cuppa and lunch and I had this Spotted Ray and 3 small Thornbacks which were worth a lot of points. We spent the last hour drifting around Portland Harbour and as I knew the points were very close I have never been so pleased to see a Pout and a Doggie ;D which gave me the comp by 10 points. Sat and Sun were the family against the Guildford Club onboard Tiger Lily and the fishing was almost the same as Fri except we spent about an hour and a half each day drifting for Plaice which we had 77 of in the 3 hours biggest was 5lb 9oz Unfortunatly for the family, the Guildford boys won for the second year on the trot so it looks as if we will have to practise a bit more before next years match
