At Albury Estates Fisheries, do you still need to be a "member" or pay a membership fee before paying for a days fishing?

I can't afford their prices, so I was going to vote for YewTree instead, but having taken a look at the Lakedown website I would quite fancy giving there a go too!

The membership is in effect a fee to fish (£13) You can then select the number of fish you want to fish for (£20 for 2). Then as I understand it if you blank you can go back another day and fish for your 2 fish with just a further £13. payment. Personally I would rather eat a used condom than a trout so the system has no real benefit to me. I just fancied going there as I'd not been before. I've always found Lakedown difficult. It seems to me that the fish tend to shoal up and if your not able to get in the right place it can be a frustrating venue. Definitely not a favorite for me. However on the plus side its very near home.

Nothing too close to home for me! Chalk Springs is probably the easiest to get to. Therefore not sure which venue to vote for?

I'll go for Albury, I hope I can find it? Its very near Guildford and just off the A25; that road we had to get round South London before they built the M25. (Anyone who slags off the M25 is not old enough to remember what it was like geting around the home counties before it was there, or an idiot).

Well having looked at the website it would appear that Albury is exclusive to season ticket holders So we would have to choose either Powder Mills,Weston or Vale End. Oh and another thing - you must purchase a four fish ticket if you wish to start fishing in the morning.

So, that leaves choice of lake within the Albury Estate and a date?? When are you free? Preferably not a Sunday as I would like to have a look at Peter Cockwills tackle shop whilst I am down there. The way I read the Albury website you can fish any of the lakes once you have your tickets but on Powder mills 1 fish counts as 2 on your ticket cos they stock bigger fish there. I have only fished Vale End and that was about 15 years ago BUT it produced my PB Rainbow of 10lb ;D so I would probably fish there sometime during the day.

Saturdays are good for me. Dates to avoid are 'Bank Holiday' week-ends and 19th May!
