Arrived at my mark for 6.30pm, bait was ragworm and squid. Fished the last 3 hours of the ebb and then the tide all the way back in. Bites were few and far between but started off with the preverbial pout as first fish of the year. I followed this off with a couple of whiting and another pout. Midnight arrived and with bites still hard to come by I decided to move, stopped by the police on the way, wanting to know what I was up to, I again was set up by 12.30am. I managed a couple of school bass and a Pollock. Just before high water a 4am, I get a better bite and in came this nice plump Flounder of 1lb 5oz. As the tide turned about 5am another better bite resulted in this Bass around the 2.5lb mark. And to finish the night off I landed my 6th species of the night with this short spinned scorpion fish. So all in all a good night was had, and I've still got some worm left, so happy days I've got an excuse to go again soon.
